This year, we are focused on turning home-WORK to interactive home PLAY with caregivers and siblings in a way that works within your busy lives. I strive to provide a variety of activities that are educational but fun and connecting at the same time. Don't think it has to be a chore. 5 minutes in the carpool line can be a beneficial and connecting time to work on some letter sounds. Cooking is a great time to squeeze in many skills, especially math. Give yourself credit for all you are doing.
Research shows that all student do benefit from reading at home with their family. Please do try to read with your student 15-20 minutes each evening with a parent or reading buddy. If your student has not yet begun reading, please read aloud to them, preferably something they choose. This is the single most important thing you can do to get your child started on reading.
If you keep a reading log in the Home/School Communication Folder, we will give them coins for the classroom store as the log is filled out.
